Closing 2016

It’s amazing how fast a year goes by even though at times it seems to drag. Looking back at 2016 I saw many achievements and changes that I didn’t realize was happening. I probably went through the most change this year and experienced the most as well. I was able to get  healthy and lose weight to the point where I felt comfortable with myself. I saw my rescue reach new heights and I met many amazing new people along the way. I got to explore new places in the bay, challenged myself and stepped out of my comfort zone. Of course, there were the “bad” times as well but all in all it was overshadowed by all the good that happened this year. Bring it on 2017, I am so ready for what this upcoming year is going to bring! Heres a quick look back at a few other adventures in 2016.

Enjoyed a last minute weekend trip to Monterey with a friend and her wonderful family. What a wonderful break to a otherwise hectic week. I love the sweet environment and seeing two old couples still so much in love. Overall a very relaxing weekend break!

Weekend road trip on the Loneliest Road in America, miles and miles of nothing but the open road and good company!

Exploring San Francisco with a new photography friend, such a beautiful city!

Weekend Vegas trip with family, although it was way too short to really truly experience Vegas I was glad to be able to have some time off!

Point Reyes & Cypress Tree Tunnel

Onwards with the explore list, we made the day trip to Point Reyes lighthouse and made sure to drop by the Cypress Tree Tunnel. It was a bit crowded when we went to the lighthouse but thankfully not too overbearing. I realized sometimes the same things can be viewed so differently depending on perspective and edit. It’s really amazing how many people come here and how each come out with different things to share. I hope to come back one day when there are less crowd for a new experience.

Avenue of the Giants

“If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough”

I’ve made this drive quite a few times but this time we were able to make the stop at the Avenue of Giants and it was beautiful! Thankfully it was during the weekday where we pretty much had the entire 30 or so miles all to ourselves. So amazing. The main offside is not having the camera with me charged and ready. I know… pretty forgetful! But regardless it was a beautiful drive through the majestic redwood trees. Not only was it beautiful but also very peaceful and relaxing. Next time I will definitely be more prepared!

Mighty Killers Photo Meetup

Just catching up on some backdated updates. This one is long overdue. I have been looking through my phone at some of the photos in my gallery and realized after losing many of the photos due to my neglect in backing up my phone that I haven’t posted these. I guess it was because of this meet up that I started getting back into exploring and taking photos. It was quite the experience meeting all different people who share the same interest. I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to do it again but who knows. I was pretty embarrassed though since I was one of the very few who showed up with just my handy little iPhone. Oh jeez! Anyways, it was fun nonetheless. I’m glad to have gotten the chance to connect with many other creative minds and to have given the opportunity to expand my knowledge in photography through a new perspective. Here are some shots from the meet up taken from my phone. I promised myself I will start using my camera soon… its just so much easy to just carry around my phone though!

Davenport Beach

It’s been awhile but I finally got going on my “California Explore” list and it was awesome. Davenport beach was absolutely beautiful. It took some time to figure out how to get down to the port but after some near death experiences (I’m kidding, we were just out of shape.) we were able to make it down to the beach. I’ve seen so many amazing photos of this place and have been itching to cross this off my list. It is definitely more beautiful in person and absolutely worth the body pains the following day. (=

Muir Woods & Random Adventures

Wednesdays are my “mom” days, its a day I set aside specifically to spend with my mom since it’s the only day she has off from the restaurant. We have been talking about going on a hike along with some of the other employees at my parents restaurant and finally decided on Muir Woods. Overall it was a good hike although we never got the chance to complete it. Hopefully one day! We went to board way one of the other times as well as Martinez marina and it was beautiful. Just little random adventures around the bay!
